Built on the Sentinel platform, Sentinel Evidence enables utilities to produce high-quality evidence to be shared with regulators about outages, network events and power quality conditions using data available from next-generation smart meters.

The Challenge
When outages or power quality disturbances occur, utilities must determine what actually happened on the network.
Producing this evidence can be time consuming and uncertain.
Distribution networks often lack comprehensive monitoring across the low-voltage grid
Utilities dependent on partial telemetry and costly manual investigation.
Regulators increasingly require utilities to provide robust evidence
Utilities must provide defensible insight to regulators, or risk penalties and lower revenues.
• When outages occurred
• How long customers were affected
• Whether network performance standards were met
• Whether events originated in the electricity network or elsewhere
How it works
Measured, locked, traceable
Measured on the meter
The record is written in the meter’s own memory and held while it is dark. The network carries the record later; it does not establish it.
Locked on arrival
Every record is locked as it arrives, unaltered, with its lineage attached. Nothing downstream can quietly change what the meter reported.
Traceable to the raw signal
Every published figure opens, down to the individual meters beneath it, so it can be re-run by anyone who challenges it.

Each figure carries the share that was measured rather than estimated, and opens to the meters beneath it.
Outage timing
When supply was lost and restored, to the second, per connection.
Power quality compliance
Voltage conditions recorded as they happened, not sampled.
Deterministic replay
Any calculation re-run and reproduced under audit.
Reliability metrics
Reported against your own network model, with the share that was measured stated alongside.
